Magic the Gathering (also abbreviated MtG) uses life counters, also known as spindowns to keep track of life totals.
These are usually 20-sided dice that, unlike most other d20s, have similar numbers next to each other so that you can easily find the right number when you need to count up or down. The 20 face of the spindown die usually has an expansion symbol.
There have been many different releases of MtG spindowns with different symbols in different colours over the years, and my good friend HaGü has been keeping track of them.
In a similar vein, although a totally different franchise, Pokémon has been releasing different dice over the years as part of their trading card game experience.
Pokemon dice and counters are used for a lot of different things in the game. They are often used to display the health of a Pokemon. However, they can also be used to show damage boosts, status effects, and they can even be used to determine who makes the first play in the game.

HaGü has compiled very useful lists for MtG spindowns and Pokémon dice that he keeps updated on a regular basis. He’s kindly allowed me to share them here.
